The Cape of Good Hope

On the weekend of the final, we decided to rent a car and go to Cape Point, then to the coastal villages along the peninsula. We rented a car for 24 hours for 400 rand- 50 dollars.

It was cloudy and rainy that day, but honestly I think it made the ocean views more beautiful. We took a drive along Chapman's Peak drive, a justifiably famous route, and along the west part of the peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Preserve.

Driving was easier this time around, but distracting with the view.

Cary made us stop and look at the ostriches, who are the weirdest animals ever.

We stopped at the snackshop and discovered this sign on the door.
This sign- 'Modern Looking People' is a nice example of scientifically ambiguous language.
Cary bought some chips and a babboon came out of nowhere and smacked them out of her hand.

She had a baby hanging to her underbelly and ate those Doritos SO FAST

Watching Babboons eat is much creepier than seeing monkeys in the zoo.

They are creepy buggers. The park ranger chased her off.
This Ostrich was in the way. We had to slow down until he yielded.

After the Cape, we drove up the other side of the peninsula. We stopped at Boulder's Bay to see the penguins, than had dinner.

We went to Simon's Town in time to see the Uruguay Germany consolation game. An epic 3-2 game that was one of the tournament's best.
